TORONTO (NBA) - "Canada's team" are to start wearing Canada’s colours.

The Toronto Raptors are to swap their purple uniforms for white with red trim this season, while ditching the black road uniforms for red.

The Toronto Sun reports the change will be made to give the team a more “Canadian” look. The Raptors are the only NBA team from north of the border.

Purple has been their colour since the team was founded in 1995.

The new uniforms will be unveiled later this month.
