TORONTO (FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament) – If Canada are able to claim one of three spots for the Beijing Games at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament this summer, their July 25 game against the United States will be a warm-up for China.

Canada Basketball has confirmed that Leo Rautins’ team will face the United States in Las Vegas on that date.

“It’s a great challenge any time you get to play against the Dream Team,” said Canada coach Rautins.

“All the players and myself are appreciative of the opportunity and look forward to it. Hopefully, we’ll be playing the game in preparation for the Beijing Olympics.”

Canada are in Group C of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Athens, Greece, along with Slovenia and Korea.

If they finish among the top two, Rautins and Co will advance to a quarter-final to take on Cameroon, Croatia or Puerto Rico.
