RAGUE (2011 FIBA Americas Championship) - Canada picked up the first win of their European campaign at the fifth attempt as they beat the Czech Republic 89-83 in overtime.
Canada, continuing their preparations for the FIBA Americas Championship, had suffered a pair of defeats to France and reversals against Bulgaria and FYR Macedonia so far on their European travels but finally recorded a W in the first of two games against the Czechs.
Jermaine Anderson scored 19 points while Andy Rautins, Jevhon Shepherd and Levon Kendall all had 15 each, with Kendall also collecting 10 rebounds.
For the Czechs, Pavel Houska scored 24 points while grabbing seven rebounds.
