TORONTO (NBA) - The Toronto Raptors will hold their 2007 training camp in Italy, the NBA team has announced.

It marks the first time in franchise history that the Raptors will have a training camp overseas. The training sessions will begin October 1 in Treviso, and the team also will participate in NBA Europa Live 2007.

Toronto will face the Boston Celtics in Rome on October 6 before facing Lottomatica Vitrus Roma the following day.

The Raptors will travel to Madrid, Spain the following week for a game against Real Madrid on October 11.

The Raptors will return to Toronto on October 17 to host Zalgiris Kaunas.

The team has increasingly adopted a more international look over the last two years and enter the 2007-08 season with eight foreign-born players on the roster.

Toronto made international headlines in June 2006, selecting Italian forward Andrea Bargnani with the first pick in the NBA Draft.

Bargnani, who played at Benetton Treviso, is in the Italian national team that is playing at the EuroBasket in Spain this summer.
