BANGKOK (Thailand) - The Broncos led wire to wire against Adroit for their second straight win, 87-41, in the Basketball Champions League Asia-East (BCL Asia-East) 2025, Saturday at the Nimibutr Stadium.
The visiting side came out of the gates on fire, especially Barsbold Baatar Erdene, who made two straight threes for the first points on the board. The Broncos went on a 10-0 run and knocked down six triples to end the first quarter with a 31-10 lead.
Adroit picked things up in a second quarter that saw the two teams trade baskets, but that only set the stage for a big third quarter from the Broncos. The Mongolian champs held their Singaporean opponents to less than double-digit scoring, further extending the lead to over 30 points.
The Broncos cruised on to the victory from there.
"This is a result of our preparation," said head coach Ariunbold Erdene. "Last two days for me, we prepared really well. That’s why today we can win."
Jordy Tshimanga recorded his first double-double for the Broncos, reaching the milestone early in the second half. He finished the game with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
"We came in here, we executed. I’m proud of the guys. Let’s keep it rolling," said Tshimanga who has scored in doublel-digits in both games so far.
Ian Miller didn't match his teammate's scoring or productivity on the glass, but he was generous with 9 assists - so far the most by any player in BCL Asia - East.
Tushig Elbeg scored 15 points in his BCL Asia- East debut, while Saruul-erdene Enkhbaatar and Azbayar Altangerel joined as double-digit scorers for the broncos.
The Broncos now have a chance to go undefeated in all of their away games by facing the hosts, Hitech Basketball Club, on Sunday, May 4, at 19:00 local time.
"Right now, we already start to focus on the next game. We will especially focus on the defense. That’s all that my guys need to focus on - the defense. If we work very well on defense, then we can win," emphasized coach Erdene.
"Keep the main thing, the main thing," Tshimanga said about the upcoming game. "Stay focused. And come over here and do the same thing we did here today."
Oleksandr Kolchenko led Adroit in scoring with 14 points.
Adroit's quest to get their first BCL Asia - East win will continue on Monday, May 5, at 19:00 local time when they face the New Taipei Kings for a second time this season.
