    BRN - Final berths for Manama and Sitra

    MANAMA (Bahrain Cup) - Manama and Sitra have both secured their places in the Bahrain Cup final after beating Al Hala and Nuwaidrat respectively. American forward Mourning Albert scored 32 points as Manama clinched a narrow 74-70 win over Al Hala

    MANAMA (Bahrain Cup) - Manama and Sitra have both secured their places in the Bahrain Cup final after beating Al Hala and Nuwaidrat respectively.

    American forward Mourning Albert scored 32 points as Manama clinched a narrow 74-70 win over Al Hala.

    The defending champions started brightest and they built on their 17-11 lead from the first quarter to secure a 37-34 lead at half-time.

    But Al Hala, led by Algerian forward Tareck Oukid who scored 28 points overall, then produced a superb fightback in the third period and took a 59-58 lead.

    However, Manama regained their composure in the fourth quarter and their experience guided them to victory.

    Meanwhile, Nigerian Donald Otis scored 24 points as Sitra secured their first ever cup final appearance after beating Nuwaidrat 80-70.

    Sitra won the first quarter 26-23, but Nuwaidrat, led by Hakim Moses, who totalled 17 points, bounced back to level the scores 44-44 at half-time.

    However, Sitra regained the momentum and secured a 64-57 lead at the end of the third-quarter, before extending their advantage in the final period.

    The final will be held on Thursday.
