SAO CAETANO (FIBA Americas Championship for Women) - Brazil women’s coach Enio Vecchi has been impressed by what he has seen of his squad so far at their training camp in Sao Caetano as they build towards the FIBA Americas Championship for Women.

The camp launched last Wednesday and carried through the weekend, with the players working towards their first internationals of the summer when they travel to China in two weeks time for a pair of friendlies with their hosts before also playing in the Four Nations tournament that includes Australia and New Zealand as well as China.

“In these early sessions, we are working to get to know the squad and gel together,” said Vecchi.

“We need to get to a standard where we are ready to achieve our goals in China.

"The girls are responding well, and I believe we are on the right track to achieve those goals.”

Brazil will play in Group B at the FIBA Americas Championship, and will face Canada, Jamaica and Mexico.

The FIBA Americas Championship for Women takes place in Columbia from 24 September until 1 October.
