GOIANIA (Campeonato Nacional) - Uberlandia and Franca crashed to defeats in their final regular season games but it matters little as each had already qualified for the play-offs.
Group A winners Uberlandia travelled to Goiania and lost 76-67 to Ajax on Friday.
William (21 points) and Diego (20) led Ajax, who reached the round-of-16 as Group A's second placed team with 12 wins and four defeats.
The setback for Uberlandia was just their second in 16 games.
"The team has not played a brilliant game as we made several mistakes, but we were calm enough and determined and clinched the triumph," said Ajax coach, Marcio Andrade.
"Against Pinheiros (in the round-of-16), we'll need profit from home advantage to book a place in quarter-finals."
Franca had already secured top spot in Group B and they lost 87-76 at Ribeirao Preto on Sunday, who finished fourth with an 11-5 record.
Ricardo had a game-high 22 points for Franca (13-3), while Alex led the winners with 21 points.
Ribeirao Preto also won their game on Friday by beating Plasutil/Sukest/Bauru, who finished in sixth place.
Group B's second place belongs to Rio Claro (12-4), who were not in action this week.
Universo/BRB won 83-80 victory over Plasutil/Sukest/Bauru, with 21 points from duo Cipriano-Kenya.
Conti/Amea/Assis (10-6) destroyed Americana Basketball (1-15) 101-65 to finish fifth in Group A.
Minas Tenis are fifth in Group B after a 91-70 triumph over rock-bottom Londrina, who failed to win a game this season. They were also beaten on Thursday, 104-73, by Universo/BRB.
The round-of-16 series tip off on Friday with Uberlandia facing Sport Recife and Franca taking on Brusque.
Ajax take on Pinheiros, Rio Claro clash with Sao Paulo/Santo Andre and Plasutil/Sukest/Bauru visit Paulistano/Dix Amico, while Universo/BRB host Flamengo.
Joinville/Univille will meet Minas Tenis and Ribeirao Preto have homecourt advantage against Conti/Amea/Assis.
