    AMSTERDAM (Haarlem Basketball Week) - Minas Tenis Clubé of Brazil defeated Capitanes de Arecibo 69-66 on the opening day of the Haarlem Basketball Week in Amsterdam.

    Joe Shipp had 21 points for Minas with Leandro Da Cruz Silva pouring in 14.

    Guard Facundo Sucatzky also had a terrific game with nine points, seven rebounds and seven assists and also came up with five steals.

    Capitanes defeated Minas in their FIBA Americas League clash recently in Puerto Rico but Minas ended up on top of Group A to advance to the Final Four.

    Buster Figueroa led Arecibo with 15 points and David Cortes had 14 in Amsterdam.

    The next game for Minas is on December 23 against Holland and Capitanes will play the following day against the Dutch.
