    FOZ DE IGUACU (Tuto Marchand Cup/FIBA Americas Championship) - Brazil and Puerto Rico both beat Canada and the Dominican Republic in consecutive days and the two will go face to face to determine the Tuto Marchand Cup winner on Friday night.

    Following a comfortable 88-70 win over Canada on Wednesday, Brazil had to recover from a poor first quarter to beat the Dominican Republic 70-64 on Thursday.

    Marcelo Huertas led the team with 16 points, five rebounds and three assists. Marcus Vinicius added 15 points, while Guilherme Giovannoni had 14.

    The Dominican Republic had the upper hand early on, leading 18-13 after the first quarter, but they were then outscored 28-12 in the second and had to play catch-up the rest of the way.

    Jack Martínez had 19 points and 13 rebounds in 31 minutes for John Calipari's side, while Al Horford added 12 and eight.

    In the first game of the night, Puerto Rico defeated Canada 74-63.

    The four Puerto Ricans players who had their passports lost arrived in Brazil earlier in the day on Thursday.

    Daniel Santiago, John Holland and Andrés Rodríguez returned to the line-up, while Renaldo Balkman was given the night off.

    José Juan Barea led all scorers by netting 24 points. He also handed out five assists and grabbed four rebounds.

    His partner in crime, Carlos Arroyo, played only six minutes due to illness.

    Santiago added 10 points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes.

    Canada had a big night from long range, hitting nine of 21 three-pointers.

    Carl English had a team-high 12 points and Denham Brown added 11. Joel Anthony contributed 11 rebounds and six points.

    On Friday, Canada will take on the Dominican Republic in the third place followed by the final between Puerto Rico and hosts Brazil.

    The Tuto Marchand Cup is a warm-up event for the FIBA Americas Championship which tips off in Mar del Plata, Argentina, on 30 August.

    The top two teams will qualify automatically for the London Olympic Games.
