That's what happened to the unbeaten record of Unimed Americana, who crashed in the latest round of the Nacional Feminino to a 74-56 defeat at Catanduva.
Starting the season with 13 consecutive wins, Maria Silva's Americana were outscored 28-9 in the opening quarter and never recovered.
"We played with determination, defense and the attack flowed well," said Catanduva center Sílvia Gustavo.
Catanduva (10-3) got 24 points from Sílvia and 22 from Palmira in the triumph, while Unimed (13-1) were led by Karina's 16.
Ourinhos (12-1) drew closer to the league leaders with a 79-54 drubbing of São Caetano.
Mamá led the way for the defending champions Ourinhos with 21 points while her fellow Brazil international Micaela contributed 13.
Unimed American and Ourinhos face each other on Tuesday night.
São Bernardo (6-7) were also 85-79 winners over Floripa. The victors got a big game from Cintia Luz, who had 25 points. Fabiana also poured in 20.
Floripa dropped to 2-12 on the campaign.
