BARUERI (2009 FIBA Americas Championship for Women) — The Brazilian National Team received six experienced players for their practices as they prepare for the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship for Women.
The players who arrived are Chuca, Karen, Karina, Kelly, Mamá and Tayara who played at the South American Championship for Women's Club in Ecuador.
After the medical exams the players will train at Polideportivo José Correa, in Barueri (SP).
The first phase is until August 7 in Barueri. Then the second phase is from August 10-21 in the same city. Phase 3 is from August 24 until September 3 where they will have their first warm up games. Their last warm up games are from September 17-19 against Canada.
The 2009 FIBA Americas Championship for Women will be played from September 23-27 in Cuiaba, Mato Grosso, Brazil where the top three teams qualify for the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women to be played in the Czech Republic.
Brazil is in Group A along with Canada, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Group B has Argentina, Chile, Cuba and Venezuela.

FIBA Americas
