RIO DE JANEIRO (FIBA World Championship for Women) - Youngster Tassia Carcavallo and Franciele Nascimento are both training with the Brazil squad as Carlos Colinas prepares to name his group for the next stage of preparations for the FIBA World Championship for Women.
Nascimento missed the South American Championship through injury, but returned to training on Saturday.

"One she was finished with her physiotherapy she began her physical preparation," said team physio Adriane Fachini.

"She has all the range of movements she needs to be able to play basketball. She has her speed and accuracy and is in a condition very similar to the rest of the squad."

Carcavallo, a member of the silver-medal winning Brazil team from the U18 FIBA Americas Championship for Women, is thrilled to have another chance to train with the seniors after also joining up prior to the South American Championship.

"I was suprised and very happy to be back," she said. "When I attended the first practices, I learned so much. This time I'm back and I'm more confident and more prepared."

However, not all the news is good for Brazil as Nadia Colhado has been diagnosed with a partial ligament tear in the right ankle she injured during the South American Championship final.

"We have found a partial ligament tear in the right ankle, confirmed by MRI, and she will need intensive rehabilitation over the coming weeks," said the team doctor.

Colhado is to remain with the team.
