    BANGKOK (FIBA U19 World Championship for Women) - Brazil defeated the Czech Republic 75-70 after being stretched into Overtime and took the ninth place on Saturday.

    Brazil, thus improved upon their 10th-place finish in 2007. Czech Republic, who had finished seventh two years ago, fell to 10th.

    Tatiane Nacimiento scored four of her team-high 18 points in the Overtime to help the South Americans’ cause.

    Fabiana de Souza had 14, and pulled down 16 rebounds. Debora da Costa chipped in with 12 points.

    Renata Brazinova led the scoring for the game with 20 points, along with leading the Czechs in rebounds with 12 collections.

    Alena Hanusova contributed 15 points.
