    FOZ DE IGUACU (Tuto Marchand Cup) Brazil topped off its undefeated performance in the 2011 Tuto Marchand Cup with a win over Puerto Rico, 89-79, in Foz de Iguacu, on Friday.

    Genaro Marchand was a famous Puerto Rican basketballer but Brazil have become triple champion after winning it always since the first edition in 2007.

    Puerto Rico were able to tie the game by halftime but as soon as Brazil returned to the lead in the third quarter they never lost the advantage.
    Brazil had a big game from beyond the arc, netting 10 of 21 three pointers.

    Puerto Rico hit 4 of 13 from long range.
    Five Brazlians hit double digits in points. Tiago Splitter led the winning side with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Marcelo Machado added 12 points.

    Alex Garcia had 11 points and Guilherme Giovannoni and Rafael Luz scored 10 points each.

    Daniel Santiago had a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds in 25 minutes.

    Carlos Arroyo did not play due to illness.

    After the game, Puerto Rico coach Flor Meléndez announced the 12 players that will represent the national team in the FIBA Americas Championship.

    The last one to leave the team was Luis Villafañe.

    In the third place match, Jack Martínez scored two of his 16 points in the last minute to give Dominican Republic a close victory over Canada 64-62.
    Martínez added 13 rebounds, while NBA player Francisco García scored 18 points.

    Carl English shared a game-high in scoring with García with 18 points.

    The four teams will travel to Mar del Plata during the week end.

    The Tuto Marchand Cup was the last warm-up event for the FIBA Americas Championship which tips off in Mar del Plata, Argentina, on 30 August.
    The top two teams will qualify automatically for the London Olympic Games.
