SAO PAULO (FIBA Americas Championship for Women) - Brazil coach Paulo Bassul has released center Nádia Colhado from national team duty, leaving him with just one more player to cut to have a 12-member squad at the FIBA Americas Championship.

The boss made the decision after Brazil completed a two-game sweep of their friendly games against Argentina with a 77-71 overtime triumph.

"The two games against Argentina were useful to see what we're doing right and what we need to correct," said Brazil coach Paulo Bassul.

The Brazilians will now take on Canada, another team warming up for the big event to be played in Cuiaba, Brazil, from September 23-27, on Thursday.

Helen Luz and Alessandra Oliveira, two veterans who were called back into the group this summer, are still in the squad.

The top three sides at the FIBA Americas Championship for Women will earn trips to the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women in the Czech Republic.

Brazil squad: Adrianinha Pinto, Natália Burian, Helen Luz, Palmira Marçal, Karen Gustavo, Micaela Jacintho, Sílvia Gustavo, Fernanda Beling, Franciele Nascimento, Karina Jacob, Jucimara Dantas, Kelly Santos and Alessandra Oliveira.
