ANTWERP (EuroBasket 2009) - Portugal’s national team will have a lot of fans in the Balkans, and specifically Bosnia and Herzegovina, when they host EuroBasket-chasing Belgium on Thursday.

The Bosnians crashed to a heavy defeat at Belgium on Monday, a 102-79 demolition which has left the Belgians only needing to beat Portugal to win Group A of the Additional Qualifying Round.

A defeat for Belgium, however, would allow Bosnia and Herzegovina to top the pool and take on Group B winners France for the right to play at the EuroBasket in Poland.

"Belgium were hungrier than we were,”  Bosnia and Herzegovina coach Mensur Bajramovic said.

“We failed in the second half, had foul trouble and lost (Nemanja) Gordic to a foot injury.

“I congratulate Belgium on the win, but remain confident that we can win the group. Belgium still have to win in Portugal on Thursday."
