KAMPALA (FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017) - Ugandan side Betway Power will be desperate to find their mojo when they take on Gondar City of Ethiopia on Monday at the ongoing FIBA Africa Zone 5 Club Championship in the Ugandan capital.
Power, who are known for their transition play on offense, were unconvincing on Sunday when they defeated Tanzania's ABC 87-55.
Arnold Lando's side face a debutant at the regional tournament and is expected to fine tune a lot if they are to poise a challenge to the Group B rivals Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) who saw off Gondar 108-35 in their opener.
KPA face Tanzanian side ABC looking to maintain a 100% winning record at the tournament ahead of Tuesday's matchup against Power.
"It is an important game for us. We respect Savio and will treat them with the respect they deserve seeing as they are the champions in Tanzania," Ramadhan Arou Chan said.
Arou, who registered a double double for KPA on Sunday told FIBA.basketball that, "It is an important game for us. We respect Savio and will treat them with the respect they deserve seeing as they are the champions in Tanzania."
"I feel like I am at home right now. This has always been a good place for me," Arou, who played for Ugandan side City Oilers in 2014 noted.
The reigning champions City Oilers take on Hawassa City in a bid to maintain their winning form and improve their goal difference which is the reason Patriots sit ahead of them in Group A.
Mandy Juruni, who boasts of arguably the best squad at the tournament, is expected to defend the regional title and once again represent Zone 5 at the FIBA Africa Champions Cup set to be held in Tunisia in December.
However, the soft-spoken tactician is taking one game at a time and hoping that playing at home will present the advantages of building momentum in front of a home crowd.
In-form Stephen Omony, Adarius Pegues and Stanley Ocitti are expected to lead the cast once again when they face Tsadiku Habtamu's outfit that lost their first game to Patriots 110-43.
Meanwhile, Patriots will be hoping to keep their winning record at 100% when they face Tanzanian side Savio. With Kami Kabange at the center of their ambitions, Henry Mwinuka's side is already a title favorite.
