SKOPJE (North Macedonia) - The Semi-Finals of the 2025 FIBA U16 EuroBasket, Division B, are now confirmed as the race for promotion to Division A intensifies.
Portugal, Belgium, Poland and Czechia all punched their ticket to the last four with the top three earning promotion for FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2026.
Portugal eased into the Semi-Finals with a 76-61 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina; shooting an impressive 50 percent from the field and enjoying a solid contribution from the bench, who mustered 38 points overall.
Out of those 38 points, Francisco Faria scored a game-high 22 to lead Portugal to victory. The guard hit an impressive 4-for-5 from three-point range and dished out 5 assists in his haul. Diogo Moreira added 17 points and 9 boards.
Belgium recovered from a slow start to overcome Ukraine 77-51 as a 20-7 second-quarter spurt proved the game-changer.
From there, Belgium flourished, as their lead peaked at 28 points. Aaron Ona Embo, who has been the side's primary offensive weapon during the tournament, led the victors again with 28 points; whilst also dishing out 4 assists. Dmytro Datsenko paced Ukraine with 19 points and 8 rebounds.
Poland were ruthless as they beat Montenegro 90-68 to advance to the Semi-Finals. Three players had 14 points as Jan Grzesiak, Hubert Swirydowicz, and Lukasz Lysek all led Poland in scoring.
Luka Malovic led the Montenegro charge with 13 points.
Czechia breezed into the last four; beating Croatia 95-79 as they started strong and held on to their double-digit lead throughout.
Power forward Vojtech Gronsky was exceptional after posting 23 points in just 22 minutes on the floor. He also collected 5 rebounds in a dominant display. Toni Garma hit five triples to lead the Croatians with 25, but it was in vain.
