    KOREA
    WOMEN’S OLYMPIC BASKETBALL, 2008

    Team Characteristics
Difficult team to face due to their constant pressure and defensive disruption. Keep the opponent off
balance which forces them out of their offense and forces quick shots. Get the most of every
possession and play unselfishly within the team concept. Can force turovers and score quickly. They
get contributions from all perimeter and post players.

    Offensive Tendencies
Offense starts with secondary offense action including 4 out post ups, ball reversal and flex cut
action. Immediately on ball screens occur, taking advantage of post defenders in the paint. On ball
screens are common at any time. Excellent quickness and ball handling make their dribble drive
game very dangerous. Penetration is a part of most possessions, creating open shots.

    Transition
Defensive pressure results in multiple transition opportunities. Break quickly after forcing turnovers.
Ball reversal is designed to find spot up players on the perimeter. Flex action used in secondary
offense, including a flex cut/screen in option.

    Set Plays
    1. Wing entry, UCLA cut, back screen, post isolation
    2. Post pop out, weak side down screen for shot
    3. On ball screen to flare screen, block to block cross screen
    Out of Bounds
Basic set places two players on blocks and tandem at the free throw line. Block to block cross screen
creates two options in the paint. Free throw area players look to cut into open areas in the paint.

    Zone Offense
Zone offense is similar to man to man. Set is 4 out/1 in or 5 out. Multiple cutters with ball and player
    movement constantly.

    Team Defense
Defensive disruption is a major part of their team. Pressure is exerted in the full court, half court and
low post area. Combination of man to man and zone pressure. Zone ball pressure is excellent and
quickness allows them to cover shooters on ball reversal. 2-3 zone pushes offense out on perimeter
and includes double teams anywhere on the floor. Trap on ball screens and post catches in man to
    man defense.
