MIES (Switzerland) - Victor Wembanyama has already proved in three seasons with San Antonio that he is one of the best players in the NBA.
That's why the Spurs locked up the France national team captain with a five-year, $252million contract extension this summer.
Wembanyama averaged 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game in the 2025-26 regular season. He then spearheaded San Antonio's run to the NBA Finals, where they fell to the New York Knicks.
After a short break, Wembanyama turned his attention to France and dazzled in four games, 2 friendlies against Nikola Jokic and Serbia and two wins in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers.
Wemby is not the only player to have get a big pay this summer. What's more, several others in the top 10 contract recipients have a connection to international basketball.
