Quimsa and Minas go all or nothing
MANAGUA (Nicaragua) - The current champion won its group and will face the Brazilians, who were second in Group D.
MANAGUA (Nicaragua) - In Santiago del Estero they have the illusion of revalidate what was achieved last year. That's because Quimsa, the BCL Americas current champion, won Group B, losing only once, and it's ready to play for the ticket to the Semifinals. Facing them on the third match this Saturday is Minas Tenis, one of the teams with the best basketball of the first phase. Between April 10th and 13th, all matches will be played in Managua, and we'll know this second edition's champion.

The team coached by Sebastián González has a 3-1 record in this tournament's edition, and it maintained the base from the 2020 champion, with high points such as Trevor Gaskins, Brandon Robinson, and the return of Ismael Romero. "We had no preference in rivals because they're all very tough. From Minas, we saw something in the first phase, they have a good perimeter with several men that played in the National League. The team is in good shape, we were able to train in Santiago del Estero and that helped us recover and integrate in the best possible way," said Franco Baralle, Quimsa's point guard.

On the other side, there'll be Minas Tenis, who won two matches and lost four in the first phase, but it showed a good basketball level. They have David Jackson and Shaquille Johnson with a powerful offense, and they want to pull off a feat against the current champion at the third match in Managua. Point guard Luciano Parodi spoke, and said: "Expectations are very high, we know it's a tough rival, they're the last champions. We know it's only one match and we must adapt as best as we can to the game plan."

The match between Quimsa and Minas will be played at 4:40pm (local time), in the Polideportivo Alexis Argüello.
