    Minas wants to be among the great ones

    BELO HORIZONTE (Brazil) - The NBB's (Novo Basquete Brasil - Brazil's national basketball league) current leader is back on the international scene and its goal is to be among the best four.

    BELO HORIZONTE (Brazil) – Minas is one of the most traditional clubs is Brazil, and it's still betting on basketball. Its good campaign during NBB's last season (fourth place) ended up producing results and now it's one of the Brazilian representatives at the continental tournament.

    Belo Horizonte's team, which replaced Peñarol from Uruguay, is in Group D together with Flamengo, last runner-up, and Instituto de Córdoba (Argentina). In the first bubble, in Rio de Janeiro, it will face the "Mengao" on Wednesday, February 3rd and the "Gloria" on the following day.

    "We're very happy to participate in the Basketball Champions League. We know we're facing very strong teams, such as Flamengo and Instituto, but we're motivated and we'll compete with courage. It's a great pleasure to participate in such an important tournament," said coach Léo Costa.

    Coach Léo Costa has a base of experienced players like JP Batista, reinforcement David Nesbitt, American David Jackson, which brings pace to the team's game, point guard Davi, who came from Flamengo, and Uruguayan Luciano Parodi, who played for Corinthians and SESI Franca.

    With a serious project, Minas earned its place at the BCLA after ending in fourth place at the 2019/2020 NBB. Nowadays, it's leading the national league, with 16 wins and 1 defeat.
