Expert picks
Over the course of the season, we will have a series of experts to call on for their predictions. You can either roll with their picks when you aren't sure or, even better, take your opportunity to prove them wrong and outscore them on the Leaderboard.
FIBA Commentator, Josh Bett, is back in the pulpit calling the shots this week. Here are his predictions to help you pick up points and climb the table.
Game | Expert Pick |
|---|---|
Rytas Vilnius | |
Tofas Bursa | |
Dreamland Gran Canaria | |
Le Mans Sarthe Basket | |
Elan Chalon | |
ALBA BERLIN | |
Joventut Badalona | |
La Laguna Tenerife |
Safe Pick🔒
I'm going with La Laguna Tenerife at home with my safe pick.
Yes, I know that Trieste just won on the road at Gran Canaria and are now the current BCL Road Warriors team, but Tenerife at home is a different beast. They look unstoppable in the Santiago Martin Arena.
They have also just picked up a characteristic road win at Barcelona and look to be entering that phase of the season where the wins start to snowball.
It's also going to be Marcelinho Huertas' 100th BCL game, so we can expect a party atmosphere in this one. As good as Trieste have been of late, I don't expect them to poop this party.
Wildcard 🃏
For the wildcard prediction, I've attempted to break the wildest mustang in the paddock this week.
Joventut Badalona have won their first seven games in the BCL and are attempting to become the first club to win their first eight.
Unicaja, on the other hand have also won their last seven road games in the BCL, and want to extend the streak to eight for the first time in the BCL.
The two clubs have only met once this season to date, with Unicaja winning 105-83 at home.
I predict that back in the northeast of Spain, Badalona will get revenge in this one and complete a record-breaking start to life in the BCL.
