Tofas Bursa uses balanced attack to take down Filou Oostende

BURSA (Turkey) - Tofas Bursa started their 2021-22 Basketball Champions League season with a 92-83 win over Belgian champs Filou Oostende.

Five Tofas players scored in double figures: Tomislav Zubcic (19 points, nine rebounds), Muhsin Yasar (18 points, 7 rebounds), Pako Cruz (14 points, 10 assists), Elgin Cook (12 points, 4 rebounds) and Kasey Shepherd (12 points, 4 assists).

Levi Randolph led the way for Filou with 15 points and 3 rebounds, while Pierre-Antoine Gillet scored 14 points and knocked down 3 three-pointers.

Turning Point: There wasn't much of a turning point in this game, as Tofas flexed their muscles throughout the game, almost leading wire-to-wire.

Game heroes: Cruz led the offense for Tofas as both a scoring and passing threat with his double-double.

Along with his 14 points and 10 assists, the 32-year-old also grabbed 4 rebounds and shot 4-of-10 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point.

Zubcic was also a key contributor, almost recording a double-double with his 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

Like his teammate Cruz, Zubcic shot the ball efficiently, going 7-of-13 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point.

Stats don't lie: Filou only led for 14 seconds in the entire game when the score was 3-2.

Tofas and Filou made the same amount of threes (10), but Tofas shot 10-of-19 from deep, while Filou shot 11 more threes, going 10-of-27.

Bottom line: Tofas gets off to a 1-0 start, while Filou begins their campaign 0-1 in Group F.

Tofas is hoping to reach the playoffs once again like last season, while Filou is aiming to reach the playoffs after falling short last season.
