Darüssafaka Tekfen are about to enter their third straight season with head coach Selçuk Ernak at the helm but their roster is undergoing a summer of big changes, after parting ways with seven players from the 2019-20 campaign.

The Istanbul club's latest addition is Josh Magette, formerly of the Atlanta Hawks and Orland Magic . The 31-year-old point guard has prior European experience from Gran Canaria, with whom he played in the EuroLeague, and with Cedevita.

Prior to Magette, Dacka had penned swingman William Buford, who spent last season at Virtus Roma. The 30-year-old American averaged 12.8 points, 3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in the Italian Serie A.

Earlier, Darüssafaka had signed a compulsive scorer on the wing in the form of Jarmar Gulley. The 29-year-old American spent the 2019-20 season at Hapoel Galil Gilboa and averaged 18.8 points per contest as the Israeli Winner League's fourth-leading scorer up until the hiatus due to the pandemic. Interestingly, Gulley also averaged 6 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

The Green-Blacks fought off several contenders for the services of Grant Jerrett and brought the former Oklahoma City Thunder player to Istanbul. The American forward averaged 12.2 points and 6.4 rebounds for Ratiopharm Ulm in the 2019-20 German easyCredit Bundesliga.

Darüssafaka decided to trust John Gillon as their new floor general, after the American point guard averaged 14 points and 4.4 assists per game with Pieno Zvaigzdes in the Lithuanian LKL league, in what was its first season in Europe.

The Istanbul club has also signed 25-year-old center Ryan Luther who is coming off a solid season with Ventspils in the Latvian league, where he averaged 10.6 points and 7.3 rebounds.

'Dacka' continued their summer signings by securing the services of Andrew Andrews, a point guard who turned heads in the Turkish BSL league last year. The 27-year-old Andrews spent the shortened Turkish season at Buyukcekmece, averaging 19.9 points and 4.5 assists per game. Andrews joined Maccabi Haifa in June for the final stage of the Israeli Winner league.
