Basketball Champions League Play-Offs and Finals format updated

Following the latest developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Basketball Champions League Board has approved a change of format for the 2020-21 Play-Offs and Finals.

MIES (Switzerland) - Following the latest developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Basketball Champions League Board has approved a change of format for the 2020-21 Play-Offs and Finals.

In order to protect the high level of competition already existing this season and provide the best clubs of the Regular Season with the best conditions in their path to the ultimate success, the Basketball Champions League has decided to adapt the format of its final phases. The Play-Offs will be played in a group format of four groups of four teams each.

The first two teams of each Regular Season group will qualify for this new format of Play-Offs. After the conclusion of the Regular Season, a Play-Offs Draw will determine the new four groups of four teams that will play home and away games over the month of March.

Clubs will play six games each in a round robin system (three games home, three away), with the first two teams in each group qualifying for a Final 8 tournament that will conclude the 2020-21 season and take place on the first week of May 2021.

The Play-Offs will start on March 2-3, 2021. The complete updated game schedule will be communicated after the Play-Offs Draw in February.

Exceptionnally, a second Final 8 will take place in order to conclude the 2020-21 season
