    Regular Season concludes - Gameday 14, Wednesday Round Up

    The 2018-19 Basketball Champions Regular Season came to a close on Wednesday evening of Gameday 14, with it now being known all sixteen teams who are advancing, awaiting the draw on Friday.

    MIES (Switzerland) - The 2018/19 Basketball Champions Regular Season came to a close on Wednesday evening of Gameday 14, with it now being known all sixteen teams who are advancing, awaiting the draw on Friday.

    The teams and seeding looks like this:

    Number One Seeds: UCAM Murcia, Iberostar Tenerife, AEK, Segafredo Virtus Bologna
    Number Two Seeds: Banvit, Umana Reyer Venezia, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, Besiktas Sompo Japan
    Number Three Seeds: Nizhny Novgorod, Nanterre 92, Brose Bamberg, Neptunas Klaipeda
    Number Four Seeds: Le Mans, PAOK, Telenet Giants Antwerp, Promitheas Patras.

    Neptunas Klaipeda v medi Bayreuth

    Neptunas Klaipeda took care of business with a 83-73 win over medi Bayreuth, before seeing SIG Strasbourg defeat Oostende to allow them to book their spot in the Round of 16 with an 8-6 record.

    Klaipeda never trailed on their way to victory, building a cushion that would stay consistent until the final buzzer.

    Tomas Delininkaitis had 15 points to lead Neptunas, Lorenzo Williams finished with 13 and 6 assists, Kyle Weaver scored 12, and Jerai Grant joined them in double digits with 10 points.

    Eric Mika's 17-point, 11-rebound double-double led Bayreuth, with Gregor Hrovat having 15.

    Notable Number: 16 - Neptunas' biggest lead of the game, as they kept Bayreuth at bay for the entire contest.

    Segafredo Virtus Bologna v Promitheas Patras

    Segafredo Virtus Bologna took the top spot in Group D with a 98-91 overtime win against Promitheas Patras.

    Tony Meier knocked down a 3-pointer with nine seconds remaining to force the extra period after Bologna opted not to foul, and Amath M'Baye took over in the final minute of overtime to ensure the home side secured the win.

    M'Baye finished with a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double, along with a thunderous putback dunk. Pietro Aradori and Brian Qvale had 16 each, whilst Yanick Moreira and Tony Taylor scored 12 apiece for the winning side.

    Promitheas Patras were led by 17 points and 5 assists from Dimitrios Katsivelis, and 16 points, 14 rebounds from Terell Parks, whilst 2003-born prospect Lefteris Mantzoukas had 7 points.

    Notable Number: 12 - the number of steals Bologna registered, leading 22 points from turnovers.

    Petrol Olimpija v Besiktas Sompo Japan

    Besiktas Sompo Japan increased their winning streak to six with a 81-75 win over Petrol Olimpija. 

    Besiktas led by as many as 15 before a furious third quarter rally saw Olimpija tie the game at 59 heading into the fourth. A pair of free throws and a pair of jumpers saw Besiktas open the final quarter on a 6-0 run to steady the ship and ride to victory.

    Kyle Gibson led Besiktas with 16 points and 5 assists, Robin Benzing had 15, and Ivan Buva scored 13.

    Olimpija were led by 19 points and 9 rebounds from Luka Samanic, but the Slovenian champions finish the season with a single win in 14 games.

    Notable Number: 24 - the number of points Besiktas scored off of turnovers, finishing with 14 steals, as Olimpija had 18 turnovers.

    Filou Oostende v SIG Strasbourg

    Filou Oostende were left heartbroken as a 100-94 overtime defeat at the hands of SIG Strasbourg brought an end to their season in a must-win game.

    A 3-pointer at the end of regulation from Quentin Serron forced the extra period, but from there Nicholas Lang sparked a 13-2 run with a quick six points as Strasbourg were able to prevail.

    Lang had 18 points to lead six players in double figures with 18 points for Strasbourg, with Jarell Eddie and Ali Traoré finishing with 17 each. Mike Green had an impressive 15-point, 12-assist double-double.

    Chase Fieler had a game-high 21 for Oostende, with Nemanja Djurisic adding 20 and Dusan Djordjevic 11 points and 10 assists, but neither Oostende or Strasbourg will advance.

    Notable Number: 21 - the number of second chance points Strasbourg finished with, capitalising from 11 offensive rebounds.

    Montakit Fuenlabrada v Lietkabelis

    Montakit Fuenlabrada appeared as though they would end their losing streak but ultimately came up short, 85-78, at the hands of Lietkabelis.

    With Fuenlabrada leading by one with 90 seconds remaining, Lietkabelis reeled of an 8-0 run to secure the come-from-behind victory.

    Jamar Wilson had 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists to lead Lietkabelis, whilst Mindaugas Kupsas had 16 points and Saulius Kulvietis added 15 points.

    Fuenlabrada were led by 26 points from Francisco Cruz, Dan Clark had 11 and Christian Eyenga 10, as they complete the season with a 3-11 record.

    Notable Number: 2:13 - the total amount of time Lietkabelis led for, as they proved their ability to execute under pressure.

    Brose Bamberg v CEZ Nymburk

    With third in the group already secured, Brose Bamberg prevented CEZ Nymburk from advancing to the FIBA Europe Cup Play-Offs with a 78-71 victory.

    Bamberg used a run on either side of the halftime break to take control, having trailed for the majority of the first half, before leading the entire second half.

    Augustine Rubit scored a team-high 13 for Bamberg, and Nikos Zisis was the only other player to join him double figures.

    Nymburk were led by 25 points and 7 rebounds from Vojtech Hruban, whilst Eugene Lawrence had 11 points and 6 assists.

    Notable Number: 36 - the number of points Bamberg received from their bench, outscoring their counterparts by 23.

    AEK v Telenet Giants Antwerp

    AEK held on for a 77-76 win over Telenet Giants Antwerp to finish at the top of Group C with the first seed in the Play-Offs draw on Friday.

    Antwerp fought back from as many as 17 down, making it a one possession game in the closing moments but were unable to execute on the final possession to fall short of an upset.

    Vince Hunter led from the front for AEK, finishing with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in just 24 minutes of action, Jordan Theodore had 11 points and 6 assists, with Malcolm Griffin and Dusan Sakota adding 10 apiece.

    Antwerp were led by Ismael Bako's 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, whilst Jae'Sean Tate had 17 and Paris Lee finished with 15.

    Notable Number: 53.3 - AEK's shooting from inside the arc made up for their shooting outside of it, where they were held to just 20% (3-of-15).

    JDA Dijon v Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem

    Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem hung on to escape with an 85-83 win over JDA Dijon.

    Axel Julien's drive with the clock running down did not go in, as Jerusalem breathed a sigh of relief to finish the Regular Season with a 12-2 record atop of Group C.

    James Feldeine had 18 points to lead Jerusalem, TaShawn Thomas had 14, whilst J’Covan Brown had 13 including a pair of big threes in the fourth. 

    David Holston went 7-of-10 from the field for his 20 points and 5 assists to lead Dijon, Ryan Pearson had 15 points, whilst Axel Julien finished with 8 points and 7 assists.

    Notable Number: 61.8 - the percentage Jerusalem shot from the field, including 50% (11-of-22) from three point range.
