Regular Season by the numbers

MIES (Switzerland) - The 2018/19 Regular Season is now behind us, with the conclusion of the fourteenth week of competition. After 224 high level games, let's have a look back on the key facts of what happened since last October.

TEAMS

159 points have been scored on average per game during this Regular Season, more than in the two previous BCL Regular Seasons (149ppg in 2016/17 and 156ppg in 2017/18). Umana Reyer Venezia v UNET Holon on Gameday 2 of this Regular Season is currently the most prolific game in BCL history (215pts, 111-104). The 114 points scored by Telekom Baskets Bonn against Opava on Gameday 7 are a joint best for a team in a BCL game. Opava (on Gameday 13 against Iberostar Tenerife) became the first team to score fewer than 40 points in a BCL game (38). The 59-point difference (97-38) in that game are also a record in BCL history. UCAM Murcia have the best record of this Regular Season, having lost only one of their 14 games (v MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg on Gameday 6). Only Monaco last season have previously managed to win 13 games in the Regular Season. Inversely, Petrol Olimpija have the worst record of this Regular Season, having only won one of their 14 games (v Filou Oostende on Gameday 4). Only Bakken Bears in 2016/17 managed to lose as many games as Petrol Olimpija this season (13 defeats). Three of the four German teams that took part in this BCL Regular Season have not qualified for the next round, only Brose Bamberg will be in the Round of 16. In the first two BCL Regular Seasons, only one of the seven German teams didn't manage to progress to the next stage (Telekom Baskets Bonn in 2017/18). 10 different countries will take part in the Round of 16 this season, more than in each of the previous two campaigns. Greece will be the most represented country with three teams in this Round of 16. Belgium, Israel and Russia will have a team in the BCL Round of 16 for the first time. [/unordered]

Petrol Olimpija have become the first team to lose all their seven home games during a BCL Regular Season. Olimpija lost six games despite leading at half-time, more than any other team in this Regular Season. Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem have won 12 games this season, joint-best tally for a team in its first BCL Regular Season after Besiktas Sompo Japan and Monaco in 2016/17. Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem scored 1265 points, grabbed 592 rebounds and made 318 assists, all best tallies for a team in a BCL Regular Season. Opava conceded 1289 points, more than any team in a BCL Regular Season. Iberostar Tenerife and UCAM Murcia (both 945) are the only two teams in this BCL Regular Season to have conceded less than 1000 points. Sidigas Avellino and Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem have both scored 100+ points in three games this season, more than any other team. Nanterre 92 scored 159 3-pointers, more than any other team in this Regular Season. Brose Bamberg made the most free-throws during this Regular Season (281) and are also the only team to finish a BCL Regular Season with a FT% of more than 80% (82.9%). Segafredo Virtus Bologna made less turnovers (118) and more blocks (53) than any other team in this Regular Season. Banvit scored on average 42.4 points in the paint per game in this Regular Season, more than any other team. Fribourg Olympic have seen nine double-doubles made by their players in this Regular Season, more than any other team. Opava are the only team to have seen none of its players having a double-double this season. 20 different players scored for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in this Regular Season, more than for any other team. PLAYERS

AEK's Vince Hunter has scored 262 points, most than any other player in the Regular Season 2018/19. Sidigas Avellino's Keifer Sykes scored 43 points against Banvit in Gameday 12 – Sykes was only the third player scoring more than 40 points in a game in BCL history. Ventspils' Aaron Johnson has dished more assists than any other player in a BCL Regular Season ever (105). Only Aaron Johnson and two other players have made 100+ assists in a BCL Regular Season. Ventspils' Aaron Johnson and Anwil's Kamil Laczynski have made 10+ assists in four different games this season, the most any player has made in a BCL Regular Season ever. Fribourg Olympic's Babacar Toure grabbed 131 rebounds in this Regular Season, more than any other player. Babacar Toure made seven double-doubles in 2018/19 Regular Season, the most double-doubles any player has tallied in a single BCL Regular Season ever. Toure averaged 15 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, becoming the first player to finish a BCL Regular Season with a double-double average (min 7 games). [/unordered]

Iberostar Tenerife's Sebastian Saiz has made three double-doubles, the most among all players coming from the bench in BCL this season. Banvit's McKenzie Moore was the only player making a double-double with points and rebounds and a double-double with points in assists in BCL this season. Telenet Giants Antwerp's Paris Lee was the only player combining for 25+ points and 10+ assists in a single BCL game this season (v Montakit Fuenlabrada, Gameday 9). Fribourg Olympic's Babacar Toure was the only player combining for 20+ points and 15+ rebounds in a single BCL Regular Season game in 2018/19 (v Opava, Gameday 2). Promitheas Patras' Rion Brown and Sidigas Avellino's Norris Cole are the only players to have scored 30+ points in more than one game in BCL this season. Sidigas Avellino's Keifer Sykes and AEK's Vince Hunter have scored 25+ points in three different games in 2018/19, the most among all players in BCL this season. Neptunas Klaipeda's Tomas Delininkaitis has scored 191 points, the most among all players coming from the bench in BCL this season. He has scored 20+ points in four different games, which is also the most among all players coming from the bench in the league in 2018/19. Ventspils' Rihards Lomazs (12 games) is the only player to have scored 10+ points in each of his games in this Regular Season (min. 7 games). AEK's Vince Hunter has had an Efficiency Rating of 30+ in five different BCL games this season, the most among all players in the competition.
