Following FIBA’s intervention, the club BasketBall Investments SSA – Lotos Gdynia Team honoured the BAT award and paid the adjudicated amounts to the claimant.

In view of the fact that the Polish club Lotos Gdynia continues to be in breach of its obligation to honour the BAT award, FIBA imposed a ban on registration of new players on Lotos Gdynia.

Summary of the case:
The Polish player Magdalena Leciejewska filed a claim against the Polish club Basketball Investments SSA – Lotos Gdynia Team for outstanding salaries, bonuses and late payment penalties. In accordance with Article 16.2 of the BAT Rules, the Arbitrator issued an award without reasons.
