Following FIBA's intervention, the club KK Zadar honoured the BAT award and paid the adjudicated amounts to the claimant.
Follow up: 22 June 2011
In view of the fact that the club KK Zadar continues to be in breach of its obligation to honour the BAT award, FIBA imposed a ban on registration of new players on KK Zadar.
Summary of the case:
The American player Trent Plaisted filed a claim against the Croatian club KK Zadar for outstanding salaries, bonuses and late payment penalties. The player requested full payment of his salaries for the 2009/2010 season, submitting that the club had made partial payments only and that payments had been made late. In its answer, the club acknowledged its debts as far as salaries and bonuses were concerned but submitted that the late payment penalties were excessive. The Arbitrator decided to partially uphold the claim.
