    Spain host Canada and Dominican Republic in warmups for Jakarta

    MADRID (Spain) - European juggernauts Spain have announced additional warm-up games for their FIBA Basketball World Cup title defense.

    MADRID (Spain) - European juggernauts Spain have scheduled additional warm-up games for their FIBA Basketball World Cup title defense.

    Sergio Scariolo's team will host Canada and the Dominican Republic in the City of Granada Tournament on August 17 and 19, respectively.

     

    Spain had previously announced a game against Venezuela in Madrid at the WiZink Center on August 4, and clashes with the USA and Slovenia in Malaga on August 11-13, at the Palacio de Deportes Maria Martin Carpena.

     

    The games against the Americans and Slovenia will mark the 100-year anniversary of the Spanish Basketball Federation.

     

    The FIBA Basketball World Cup, which is being staged in Manila, Okinawa and Jakarta, tips off on August 25.

    Spain are in Group G, which is being in held in Jakarta, and will take on Cote d'Ivoire in their first game on August 26.

    They face Brazil on August 28 and Iran on August 30.
