POITIERS (France) – Australia (AUS) captured their second title of the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series 2026 after outlasting Canada (CAN) 20-19 in a thrilling overtime Final at the the Place du Maréchal Leclerc.
The Final
The titular game was a fitting finale to a spectacular tournament, with both teams refusing to give an inch. Emma Clarke once again delivered for Australia with eight points, but it was her perfectly timed assist to Hannah Hank in overtime that set up the winning basket.
Canada nearly stole the title behind another monster performance from Paige Crozon, who poured in 11 points in defeat and repeatedly kept her team within striking distance. However, Australia held their nerve in the extra period to seal a memorable triumph in Poitiers.
Australia looked every bit the championship contender throughout the tournament. After sweeping Pool D with victories over Rapid Bucharest (ROU) and Paris Région IDF (FRA), the Gangurrus shifted into another gear in the knockout rounds. They dismantled Beijing (CHN) 21-7 in the Quarter-Finals before ending the valiant run of Amsterdam (NED) with a 21-16 victory in the Semi-Finals.
Emma Clarke and Hannah Hank formed a formidable one-two punch all weekend long, with Clarke's perimeter scoring and Hank's interior dominance proving too much for opponents to handle.
Road To The Final
Despite losing in the Final, Canada still enjoyed an impressive campaign and came within a basket of lifting the trophy. The Canadians swept Pool B with convincing wins over Hungary (HUN) and Beijing (CHN) before eliminating Paris Région IDF (FRA) 21-11 in the Quarter-Finals.
Their sternest test came in an all-Canadian Semi-Final against Ottawa (CAN). Canada looked in control with a 13-8 lead before Ottawa rallied to force overtime. Niyah CG Becker put Ottawa ahead in the extra session, but Cassandra Brown and Crozon responded to complete a dramatic 17-16 victory and send Canada into the Final.
Meanwhile, Egypt (EGY) and Paris Région IDF authored the Cinderella stories of the tournament. Egypt advanced from the Qualifying Draw before stunning Amsterdam (NED) and sweeping Pool C behind the inspired play of Raneem Mohamed. Paris Région IDF also emerged from qualifying and rode momentum into the Quarter-Finals, where their memorable run was eventually halted by Canada.
MVP
Clarke was named the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Poitiers MVP after leading Australia to the title. The dynamic Australian star dominated all facets of the game, finishing first in player value (44.8), rebounds (26), blocks (5), highlights (17), double-fives (3) and total two-pointers made (10), while ranking second in scoring with 34 points.
Time and again, Clarke delivered in the biggest moments, none bigger than her overtime playmaking in the Final that helped secure back-to-back Women's Series wins for Australia.
