ADELAIDE (2010 FIBA World Championship) - Pat Mills scored 21 of his game-high 32 points in the first half and Australia dominated the boards once again in a 90-72 win over Argentina on Tuesday night in the third and final game of the Boomers World Challenge.

Australia had a size advantage in the series and dominated the boards in the three games – all victories for the hosts.

In the third game, Brett Brown’s side had 36 rebounds to just 21 for Argentina.

The Aussies made life very difficult for Argentina as well with their three-point shooting.

Mills was five of nine from behind the arc and Australia hit nine of 19 overall.

The South Americans gave a much better account of themselves in Game 3 and trailed 81-72 with just under three minutes remaining but the Boomers held them without a point the rest of the way.

Brad Newley chipped in 14 points for Australia, who also won games in Perth and Melbourne against what is effectively an Argentina B team.

The veteran players and head coach Sergio Hernandez won’t join the team for its FIBA World Championship preparations until later this summer.

Nicolas Romano led Argentina with 19 points and Nicolas de los Santos contributed 13.

Argentina had seven different players make shots from behind the arc.

They finished eight of 22 as a team.

The South Americans hurt their chances at the free-throw line, sinking only 18 of 29 (62%) whereas Australia were 19 of 25 (76%).

Australia will also be getting most of their veteran players back in the coming weeks as they prepare for the FIBA World Championship in Turkey.

Both teams will be in Preliminary Round Group A with Serbia, Germany, Angola and Jordan.
