TOWNSVILLE (NBL) - Townsville Crocodiles young superstar Brad Newley has indicated he will be nominating himself for the NBA Draft in July.
Newley, who is currently on duty with the Boomers at the Commonwealth Games, has attracted plenty of NBA attention in recent months with a number of scouts visiting Townsville to see the 21-year-old play.
'Newls' has told media he plans to go over to the US in late April or early May to work out for a number of NBA teams in a bid to follow in the footsteps of Australia's Andrew Bogut, Chris Anstey and Luc Longley and gain selection in the Draft.
Currently there are two Australians in the NBA – the Milwaukee Bucks' Bogut (who is the Philips Championship's number one ticket holder) and South Australian Luke Schenscher (Chicago Bulls).
