VILNIUS (Olympics) - Australia international Brad Newley will be out of action for a month after having an appendectomy.
Lietuvos Rytas, who are competing in Lithuania's LKL, the VTB United League and the Eurocup, have announced the news about their 26-year-old guard from Adelaide on the club website.
Newley played for Australia at the 2008 Olympics and is expected to be in the squad when they compete at the London Games.
The Australian did not play in Sunday's VTB United League game victory against CEZ Nymburk because of a leg injury.
"Newley didn't play, as he's having a bad stretch lately - he was a bit ill at first and then almost broke his foot later," said Lietuvos Rytas coach Aleksandar Dzikic.
