    AUS - Jackson stars in Russia, but team loses

    MOSCOW (Superleague) - Australian Opal Lauren Jackson has scored 20 points and pulled in 14 rebounds for Spartak Moscow in game 1 of the best-of-five Russian Superleague Grand Final series

    MOSCOW (Superleague) - Australian Opal Lauren Jackson has scored 20 points and pulled in 14 rebounds for Spartak Moscow in game 1 of the best-of-five Russian Superleague Grand Final series.

    But it wasn’t enough to ensure victory for Spartak, who lost to CSKA Samara overnight, 83-70.

    Jackson, who is on a one month contract with the current Euroleague Women’s Champions, will contest the second game of the series tonight.

    The World Champion defencejobs Opal, widely regarded as the best female basketball player in the world, turns 26 next Friday.
