MELBOURNE (2012 Olympics) - Australia Opals Liz Cambage, Jenna O'Hea and Marianna Tolo have committed to next year's three-month pre-Olympic exclusivity program to prepare for the London Games.
Veteran Lauren Jackson had already said she will be with the Opals when they begin getting ready for the Olympics and now three other key players have confirmed they will join her.
Australia coach Carrie Graf said: “It’s a big part of us trying to rebound from the World Championships.
“Having absolutely minimal preparation going into the Worlds was tough and that was indicative in the result.
"We had fatigued athletes and to get the commitment from Lauren as captain firstly and now following through with some of our emerging talent, who were a part of the World Championship campaign, is a massive step forward.”
When Jackson arrived in Ostrava for the FIBA World Championship for Women, she had just several days earlier finished her WNBA campaign with Seattle.
Jackson had sparked the Storm in their thrilling title series against Atlanta, which Seattle won 3-0. Australia came in a disappointing fifth at the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women.
