BRISBANE (Olympics) - Tully Bevilaqua has returned to Australia to join up with Opals as they step up their workouts for the Olympics.
And the veteran guard, who just turned 36, is still smiling a couple of weeks after being told by coach Jan Stirling that she had made the team for the Beijing Games.
''It was good to finally hear the words,'' Bevilaqua said.
“[Stirling] came over and met me in Houston and we spoke then and now to hear the words ‘you're in, you're going.’ It was a dream come true.”
Bevilaqua played for the Australians on their title-winning side at the 2006 FIBA World Championship for Women in Brazil.
