CANBERRA (FIBA U19 World Championship for Women) - Australia U19 Women head coach Cheryl Chambers will take 10 WNBL players to the FIBA U19 World Championship for Women in Lithuania next month (18-28 July), after the final Gems line-up was confirmed by Basketball Australia (BA).

And the play-caller will be eyeing up a place on the podium in Klaipeda after their super success at the Reze International Basketball Tournament recently, when they topped the podium in impressive fashion, taking some big wins against Russia and France.

Even BA Chief Executive Officer Kristina Keneally took time to express her excitement and anticipation in the wake of some impressive performances during preparation.

"We've already seen the type of basketball this Gems team is capable of producing during their brilliant Reze International Tournament win in France earlier this month," she said.

"We hope to see this form carried on in Lithuania and wish the Gems the best of luck as they take on the world."

The duo who will spearhead the challenge in Lithuania will be Carley Mijovic - who was named MVP in Reze - and also Stephanie Talbot. The pair have both been crowned WNBL Rookie Of The Year in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
