    Zhao Yanhao tops all scorers at EABA Championship 2017

    The 19-year-old Zhao Yanhao of China was the top score of the East Asia Basketball Association Championship 2017.

    NAGANO (EABA Championship 2017) - The 19-year-old Zhao Yanhao of China was the top score of the East Asia Basketball Association Championship 2017. Despite China failing to secure a top three finish, the 193 cm guard finished the competition with an average of 19.8 points per game in 4 games in Nagano. 

    China dominated their opponents in Group B including eventual champions Chinese Taipei. Zhao scored game-high 22 points in that game which ended 96-63 for the Chinese.

    Zhao averaged 20.5 points per game in the Final phase of the tournament, but it proved not enough as China suffered defeats against regional rivals Korea in the semi-finals and hosts Japan in the third-place.

    Chinese Taipei veteran Quincy Davis III came second with 18.5 points per game ahead of China’s bright youngster Hu Jinqiu, who finished third.
