Mono Vampire one step away to FIBA Asia Champions Cup return

2018 has been a year of nonstop basketball for the Mono Vampire Basketball Club and that journey will continue in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2019 Inter-Subzone Qualifications from 30 July to August 1.

NONTHABURI (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018 Inter-Subzone Qualifications) - 2018 has been a year of nonstop basketball so far for the Mono Vampire Basketball Club and that journey will continue in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018 Inter-Subzone Qualifications from 30 July to August 1.

As the Champions of the Thailand Basketball League (TBL) in 2017, Mono Vampire Basketball Club qualified for the FIBA Asia Champions Cup SEABA Qualifiers by sweeping the competition in three straight wins. The squad was led by stellar performances from imports Jason Brickman and Michael Singletary, but Thailand National Team star Darongphan Apiromvilaichai put on a memorable performance himself with 19 points in the title-clinching victory over Pelita Jaya.

The championship allowed Mono Vampire to advance to this round, the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018 Inter-Subzone Qualification, where they will go up against Pelita Jaya (INA) and Pauian Archiland (TPE).

The Mono Vampire Basketball Club have been pretty busy this year, going to the finals in both the ASEAN basketball League (ABL) 2017-2018 season and the TBL 2018 season despite coming up a bit short in both series.

They are aiming at a second straight year of participating in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup after a memorable run to finish in 6th place in the 2017 edition of the tournament.

In the 2017 tournament and the Qualifying Phase of 2018, Mono Vampire were led by their trusted import tandem of the aforementioned Brickman and Singletary. Their local player core is just as strong with National Team members scattered all over the roster with the likes of Apiromvilaichai, Teerawat Chantachon, and Sorot Sunthonsiri.

The FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018 Inter-Subzone Qualifications will be advancing two out of the three participating teams and Mono Vampire Basketball Club want to make sure they lock up one of those spots!
