5-Time SBL champion Pauian Archiland aims FIBA Asia Champions Cup return

NONTHABURI (FIBA Asia Champions Cup Inter-Subzone Qualifications) - Pauian Archiland are aiming at a return to the FIBA Asia Champions Cup and after claiming the  Super Basketball League (SBL) title, they are now only one step away.

The Chinese-Taipei champions will be playing in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup Inter-Subzone Qualifiers at Nonthaburi, Thailand from July 30 to August 1 against Mono Vampire Basketball Club (THA) and Pelita Jaya (INA). The three teams are looking to secure the two available slots to qualify for the Final 8 round of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup.

Pauian Archiland secured their ticket to this round by securing the SBL title by beating the Fubon Braves in a 4-2 Finals series. They finished the regular season with an 18-12 record to secure the second seed in the playoffs before their eventual run to the title. The championship adds another trophy for Pauian to boast, adding on to a remarkable run of 5 titles in 8 seasons.

The last time that Pauian Archiland played in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup was in 2016 where they finished in 6^th place with wins over Barsy Artyrau (KAZ), Al Rayyan (QAT) and ONGC (IND). Pauian were led by National Team Naturalized player Quincy Davis (18.3 points and 11.3 rebounds) and Elliot Tan (12.2 points, 5.1 rebounds). 

Davis, Tan, and National Team player Douglas Creighton highlighted their SBL Championship squad this season. Davis averaged a double-double of 15.8 points and 11.4 rebounds throughout the competition. Tan and Creighton chipped in with 11.5 and 11.8 points per game, respectively. They are expected to be the core for Pauian in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup Inter Sub-Zone qualifiers as well.
