    Iranian twins Yazarloo will have opponents seeing double

    FOSHAN (FIBA U16 Asian Championship) - Those watching Iran play at the U16 Asia aren't seeing double: Amirhossein and Nosrathollah Yazarloo of Iran are twins. But they aren't the first in U16 Asia history.

    FOSHAN (FIBA U16 Asian Championship) - Don't worry … those watching Iran play at the FIBA U16 Asian Championship are not seeing double - yes, Amirhossein and Nosrathollah Yazarloo of Iran are twins.

    Nosrathollah is slightly taller at 6ft 6in (1.97m) with Amirhossein standing 6ft 5in (1.96m). But the Yazarloos are the not the first set of twins in FIBA U16 Asian Championship history.

    Soo Zheng Jie David and Soo Zheng Yi Peter - Singapore

    In the inaugural U16 continental championship in 2009, Singapore had the Soo twins Zheng Jie David and Zheng Yi Peter. Jie David averaged 1.3 points and 2.0 rebounds while Yi Peter picked up 2.1 points and 1.6 rebounds.

    Michael and Matthew Nieto - Philippines

    In 2013, Philippines claimed second place for their best-ever showing thanks in large part to the Nieto twins Michael and Matthew.

    Michael Nieto was an undersized power forward at 6ft 2in (1.88m) but he averaged 15.9 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals including 12 points and 20 rebounds against Jordan and 26 points and 16 rebounds against Chinese Taipei.

    And Matthew Nieto was a 6ft 1in (1.85m) point guard and averaged 5.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, a team-high 3.4 assists and 1.0 steals.

    Rashed Aljadid Almajali and Hashem Aljadid Almajali - Jordan

    There was a second set of twins at the 2013 edition with Rashed Aljadid Almajali and Hashem Aljadid Almajali. Rashed averaged 5.3 points and 3.3 rebounds, including 18 points, six rebounds and two steals against Kazakhstan. Hashem averaged 5.0 points and 4.9 rebounds with his top game coming against Philippines with 10 points and nine rebounds.
