CHENZHOU (FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016) - Petrochimi Bandar Imam have just suffered a big blow to their chances in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2016 after star forward and national team member Mohammad Jamshidi was ruled out for the entire tournament due to complications from a finger injury.

Jamshidi was expected to be one of Petrochimi’s main weapons in this competition. The 1.98m 25-year-old wingman has been a veteran of Iran’s national teams for the past few years, and he is seen as a fast rising superstar in Iran. He last played for Iran in the FIBA Asia Challenge 2016, averaging 10.0 points, 4.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Young playmaker Sajjad Mashayekhi was called up to replace Jamshidi in Petrochimi’s final roster. Mashayekhi also played in the FIBA Asia Challenge 2016, putting up 7.6 points, 3.0 boards and 1.6 assists.
