AS Sale clinch 2018 Morocco Royal Cup title

SALE - Association Sportive Sale on Monday added more silverware to their trophy cabinet by claiming the 2017-18 Morocco Royal Throne Cup title.

Said El Bouzidi 's men claimed the Kingdom's most important basketball competition thanks to an 87-59 triumph over MAS Maghreb.

A 43-18 halftime lead translated how dominant AS Sale became in Morocco basketball in recent years.

With the win, the reigning champions of Morocco League extended their success to four major titles.

AS Sale last December took Africa by a storm by stunning Etoile Sportive de Rades of Tunisia in the final of the FIBA Africa Champions Cup (ACC) 2017 - the continent's most important clubs competition.

In the process, AS Sale became the first Moroccan side to win the ACC since Maghreb Association Sportive de FEZ did it in 1998.  

All that success comes a week before the start of Final-Four 2018 of the Morocco League, where AS Sale will face FUS  Rabat in one of the two Semi-Finals, while CRA Hoceima will square off against WAC Casablanca.
