BUENOS AIRES (FIBA Americas Championship) - Argentina superstar Luis Scola has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
It has emerged the 30-year-old had the operation on Friday but went home on the same day.
The power forward hurt his knee at the beginning of March in a clash with Sacramento and ended up missing eight games.
Scola, a member of the All-Tournament Team at last year's FIBA World Championship, is expected to be in the Argentina line-up this summer when the country hosts the FIBA Americas Championship in Mar del Plata.
When Scola returns to Houston's training camp ahead of next season, meanwhile, he will have a new coach.
The Rockets announced on Monday they have agreed to part ways with Rick Adelman following his four-run run with the club.
“I have enjoyed my time in Houston over these past four seasons," Adelman said.
"We accomplished quite a bit, despite overcoming numerous obstacles during the past few years.
"I especially enjoyed coaching this group of players the past two seasons.
"Despite difficult circumstances, they never gave in and they never quit.”
The biggest blow for Adelman and the Rockets has been the absence of China national team center Yao Ming for the majority of the past couple of seasons due to injury.
Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said of Adelman: "He is a Hall of Fame coach who earned the respect and admiration of our entire organization during his time here.
"These situations are always difficult, but we would like to personally thank Rick and his staff for their efforts the past four seasons and we wish them the best in their future pursuits.”
Houston finished ninth in the Western Conference, three games adrift of Memphis who claimed the last play-off spot.
