    BUENOS AIRES (Pan American Games) - The Argentinian national team have been allowed to include Facundo Sucatzky in their basketball squad to play in the Pan American Games.

    Sucatzky, who plays for Minas Tenis of Brazil, will replace Boca Juniors guard Raymundo Legaria  who has been ruled out of the Games because of a left knee injury that requires surgery.

    The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the Pan American Games organisers gave special dispensation for the change. 

    "It was a great surprise being called to join the national team. I'm very proud," said Sucatzy.

    "I'm in good physical form and I still have one week to train along with my team-mates."

    The team, which will be managed by head coach Sergio Hernandez's assistant Gonzalo Garcia, is flying to Brazil on Friday.

    Argentina have been drawn in Group B, alongside Panama, Uruguay and the United States.
