SAO PAULO (FIBA Americas Championship for Women) - Argentina slipped up against Brazil 65-50 in Sao Paulo in the first of two friendly games between the sides in the city.

Both squads are preparing for the FIBA Americas Championship for Women, which tips off on September 23 in Brazil.

Brazil out-rebounded his team 50-33, with 17 of the home side’s rebounds coming on the offensive glass.

"The players do not have any game rhythm and are too slow for this level," Argentina coach Eduardo Pinto said.

Pinto is full of admiration for a Brazil side that is favored to capture the gold medal and claim one of three places on offer for the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women in the Czech Republic.

"Ninety percent of the Brazilian players are playing in Europe, in teams of the top level.

"They are good on defense and have two dominant centers."

As for his own team, Pinto said before its opener against Venezuela: "We must improve in rebounding and on offense we must improve our (shooting) percentages."
