ARG - Libertad miss out on top spot

CORRIENTES (Liga Nacional) - Liberated missed the chance to go top of the Liga Nacional after going down 78-69 to Regatas on Wednesday.

Diego Garcia top-scored for the victors with 19 points, while Sebastian Acosta (15) and Ronald Selleaze (15 and nine rebounds) were also key contributors for
Regatas, who have an impressive 14-2 home record.

However, they will be looking to improve their abysmal away form which has seen them win just twice in 13 outings.

The win moves them to seventh in Argentina’s top division, while Libertad are still a point behind leaders Penarol, who have played one game less.

Elsewhere, Ben Hur suffered their first home defeat this season with a 76-73 result against Atenas.

A three-pointer by Pablo Barrios seconds before the end gave victory to the visitors, who by winning became the first team to reach 100,000 points in the history of the Liga Nacional.

Marcus Fleming and Bruno Labaque scored 16 points apiece as Atenas improved their overall record to 7-9, while Hur drop to 9-7.
